Process
Contaminated fluid enters the SID filter’s dirty tank, where heavy particles settle and are removed by the drag conveyor. Fine particles are captured by the suspended SID filter modules as clean fluid is returned to the machines. A portion of the filtered fluid keeps the clean tank full, providing continuous clean fluid during filter indexing.

Index Cycle
During filtration, fine particulates accumulate on the outer surface of the suspended SID filter drum modules, forming a filter cake. As the cake builds, the system automatically initiates an indexing cycle to restore filtration performance.
- Increased filter cake restricts flow to the filter/system pump, triggering indexing through a vacuum switch or timer.
- The vacuum release valve opens, allowing the pump to draw from the clean tank while maintaining continuous process flow.
- Vacuum is released from the SID filter drum modules.
- The drum modules rotate incrementally, exposing a clean section of the filter surface.
- The vacuum release valve closes, returning the system to normal filtration operation.
