Applications
Benefits
Reduce Maintenance Requirements
The VKR eliminates submerged sprockets, bearings, and guide systems and requires only three grease points. Keeping routine service components above the waterline reduces maintenance time and makes inspection and upkeep safer and easier.
Maintain Effective Debris Removal
Six-pound cast stainless steel links help keep the rake heads engaged with the bar rack. Stainless steel and UHMW rake teeth penetrate the bar openings, while bucket-style rake heads retain collected material and help reduce carryback into the channel.
Fit Space-Constrained Channels
Compact construction allows the VKR to fit narrow channels and locations where larger mechanical screens may not be practical. Integrated frames and customized configurations support both new construction and retrofit installations.
Adapt to Changing Flow Conditions
Variable-frequency drive operation allows the screen to operate at a lower speed during normal conditions and increase rake speed during peak flows or high differential levels. Demand-based operation supports effective screening while reducing unnecessary runtime.
