Product Design Engineer
We are seeking an accomplished Product Design Engineer with product design and Autodesk Inventor experience in a manufacturing environment. The Product Design Engineer will help the Company design and improve on its broad portfolio of products. In addition, the Product engineer many support sales, manufacturing and the field services teams on technical issues. The position is based at our headquarters in Peapack, NJ.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Design and drafting of dryers, dewatering systems, filter presses, filters, and process filtration equipment
Design improvements of products with an emphasis on performance engineering, cost reduction and design for manufacturability
Develop bespoke engineered solutions to solve unique customer problems
Implementation of best practices for 3D drafting and aid in the company’s transition from legacy systems to 3D Inventor
Desired skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from top university with more than five years of related experience
Skilled drafter of machines and components, primarily using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
Demonstrated skills in mechanical design, including knowledge of power transmission systems, machine components, piping, structural and materials selection relative to rotating equipment, pressure vessels and conveying equipment
Possess expert knowledge of stress analysis and materials selection
Familiar with a wide variety of fabrication machining and manufacturing methods including knowledge of piping, structural steel, welding, gears, and motors
Enjoys ”getting hands dirty” and working directly with manufacturing personnel on design and manufacturing issues
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Highly organized and able to work within rigid time constraints with a superb attention to detail
Desire to be a part of an entrepreneurial, energetic team and handle a wide range of responsibilities
New Jersey PE license a plus
Knowledge of heat transfer and ASME code for pressure vessels a plus
